Production
Naracoorte Seeds is situated in the heartland of the South Australian small seed production area and has been involved in small seed production with public & proprietary varieties for over 20 years.
We have undertaken production for public lines of Subterranean Clover, Annual Clover, White Clover and Phalaris, and also act as production agents for various proprietary companies for cultivars such as Lucerne, Subterranean Clover, Annual Clover, Cocksfoot, Phalaris & Tall Fescue.
Being situated in the largest and most reliable pasture seed production area in Australia allows us to monitor and produce top quality seed each and every year, which gives our clients the assurance they need when purchasing pasture seed.
Recently Naracoorte Seeds has purchased a new production business called Ag Consult, which produces vegetable seed for the export market. This business has been running successfully for over 15 years and we believe the purchase of Ag Consult will give our business and our dedicated grower’s greater production options going forward.
Multiplication
Before any production of seed can occur, an important role of multiplying the original breeder seed needs to occur. Each variety starts off with a handful of seed and is then multiplied to a point where we can go into full commercial production.
Over the years Naracoorte Seeds has being asked to carry out this extremely important role of multiplying new lines of seed. Some of these lines include Sub Clovers, White Clover, Lucerne’s and Phalaris.
We have built very strong relationships and loyalty with professional small seed producers in the local area who have the know-how and expertise to carry out the important role of small seed multiplication.
